The book
contains results of more than 40-years field investigations and laboratory
analvscs of Mongolian medicinal plants with literature data on biological
active substances found in medicinal plants and their pharmacological effects,
and on use of medicinal plants in traditional and modem medicine in Mongolia
and other countries in Asia and Europe. Data from Tibetan and Mongolian ancient
literary sources are also included. The book, first published in Mongolian,
became Manual for physicians of both traditional and modem medicine.
The description,
distribution and habitats of medicinal plants arc given according to V.I.
Grubov (1982), N. Ulziikhutag (1985), and A.I. Gubanov (1996) with addition of
our data and data of other authors. Materials on biological active substances,
found in the plants described, their pharmacological properties and clinical
uses are taken from books and magazines, published in different countries and
from theses of congresses, conferences and symposiums.
The book is intended for
botanists, pharmaceutists, phytotherapeutists, physicians, theachers, students
corresponding to their profile, as well as for persons who interested in
protection and use of medicinal plants.
