The Mongolian Red Book has been edited in Mongolian and English to aid the implementation of national laws and international conventions, such as the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), Convention on Biological Diversity, Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification.
The
latest research indicates that the number of species which are in danger of
extinction is growing.
